When change is forced upon us, our world not only turns upside, but we also feel that we have lost important, stabilizing touchstones.

Meet Tessa tenTusscher

The work that I do focuses on supporting people who are in transition. It is a collaborative approach, where we both have responsibilities and is guided by what you want, who you are, and your current situation.

I offer a space to think and feel as well as practical help. Together, we can do this!

I have a Ph.D. in psychology, then trained, and became licensed, as a clinical psychologist, in California, I worked, as a clinician for more than 20 years prior to moving here to Catalunya 10 years ago.

My clinical work focused on psychotherapy with adults, psychological and cognitive assessment, and working with older adults and their families. In the course of my work, I launched a psychological diagnostics clinic, trained a lot of psychologists, and a created wrap-around model of care for older frail adults. My approach is based on the belief that curiosity, being kind, and paying attention to the subtleties of our feelings open doors to growth and to living the lives that we desire.

Before becoming a psychologist in the US, I grew up in the UK and South Africa. I studied politics and social theory. I’ve experienced many changes which taught me how to learn to adapt to new situations.

I speak English, Spanish, and Catalan

I moved to Spain 10 years ago, initially living on the coast and, more recently, in Girona. Outside of my work, I love everything to do with plants and food, theatre, and music, enjoy travel and new experiences (well... most of them), and now, I am settled here in Girona. For me, being connected to my social environment is important although I also relish quiet time with my husband, friends, two cats, and a lively small dog.
